Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

These terms govern your use of MapCheck's website (mapcheck.com.au) and reports. By ordering a report or using our website, you agree to these terms.

What MapCheck provides

MapCheck produces environmental and property intelligence reports for NSW properties. Our reports compile data from 90+ government and public datasets into a structured, plain-English document.

What our reports are — and aren't

Our reports are: a preliminary screening tool based on publicly available government data, designed to inform decision-making about property purchase, management, or development, and quality-checked by our team before delivery.

Our reports are not: a substitute for formal ecological assessment (such as a BAM report), legal advice, a valuation or appraisal, or a guarantee of data accuracy from underlying government sources. While we validate our data compilation to 97.2% accuracy across 15 independent checks, the underlying government datasets may contain errors. We recommend using our reports as a starting point for further investigation.

Ordering and delivery

Reports are delivered by email within 1–2 business days of order confirmation. Turnaround begins once we have confirmed your property details and received payment. If we cannot produce a report for your property (e.g., the lot doesn't exist in NSW records), we will notify you and issue a full refund.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Payment is required before report production begins.

Refunds

See our Refund Policy for full details. In summary: full refund if we can't produce your report, full refund if the report is not delivered within 5 business days, no refund once a completed report has been delivered as the service has been fully provided.

Intellectual property

Report content is compiled from public government data sources, which remain the property of their respective custodians. The report format, analysis, and presentation are the intellectual property of MapCheck. You may share your report with your legal, financial, or planning advisors. You may not resell, redistribute, or publish our reports without written permission. White-label licensing is available — contact us for details.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law: our liability is limited to the cost of the report ordered, we are not liable for decisions made based on report content, and we are not liable for errors in underlying government data sources. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
